The TeleDentists gives patients immediate, 24/7 access to licensed dentists by video. A dentist typically joins within 10 minutes to triage the problem, recommend treatment and arrange in-person follow-up where needed. Founded in 2014, the company was first to market with nationwide U.S. teledentistry.
The company has grown from virtual consultations into a dental-care network serving all 50 states, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Its model combines subscriptions, consultations and platform licensing, and it works with health systems, insurers, urgent care, employers and senior living to keep dental problems out of the emergency room. The TeleDentists is now raising a $5M Series A to scale that network.
About 4% of U.S. adults sought dental care in an emergency department last year for oral pain or discomfort, often where little dental treatment is available. The TeleDentists gives people another route, with 24/7 virtual dental triage and care planning. Its CareQuest-funded pilot across 11 Arkansas sites connects dental care with emergency departments and primary care.
